Preserve West Islip History
• Safeguard artifacts and documents

Refurbish historic Weeks Library
• Located in the Higbie Community Center
• Was in disrepair
• The Summit Coalition along with the West Islip Historical Society and Islip Town have been working to restore the library.
— Preserve the artifacts, make the library accessible to residents, use the library as a show piece for the town

Support the West Islip Beautification Society's efforts
• Create a flower island on Udall Road (need state approval)

Finish the Weeks Library

• Does not drain due to overgrowth of weeks and garbage
• Summit Coalition needs assistance from elected officials to get DEC approval to clear the site.

• The Summit Coalition in a joint effort with Keep Islip Clean, Good Samaritan Hospital and local elected officials held a painting party.
Food Drive
• The Summit Coalition, teaming with the West Islip Chamber of Commerce, Long Island Road Gents, Good Samaritan Hospital, local PTA and WestIslipTribune.com, organized a food drive to benefit local food pantries.
